Institutional players continue to back mega cap tech names while selectively adding aerospace startups to their diversified books.
This quarterly snapshot reveals major positioning across both concentrated and diversified funds. Though filed weeks after the quarter ended, the filings indicate immense consensus remaining in core technology platforms. Both tiers of managers trimmed semiconductor giants while rotating capital into consumer cyclical leaders and emerging space enterprises.

Crowding is counted across each fund’s largest disclosed positions, not its whole book — a name held by every fund outside those would not appear here at all.
140 further positions across 14 funds — $22.8B of the $371B these funds’ collected positions are worth, or 6.1% — could not be matched to a ticker and are not ranked here. They are listed by issuer under “Positions we could not name”.

Counted across each fund’s largest disclosed positions and largest exits, not its whole book — a fund that closed hundreds of positions contributes only its biggest.
Where the money sits, by sector
Sectors are the SEC’s own SIC assignment, reached through each ticker’s CIK — no key, no configuration. Unclassified is 55% of this chart. It is mostly not exotica. A sector needs a ticker, and the scan resolves tickers only for each fund’s largest positions — on the order of a hundred per fund, against books running to thousands — so every position past that is never looked up and lands here. The genuinely unresolvable part is far smaller: $22.8B of positions that were looked up and matched no US listing (named below), plus tickers the SEC’s own file does not carry and index and ETP lines, which have no company sector. The dollars are a whole book — they sum to the $1.25T these funds disclose. Each named sector’s share is therefore a floor: the true figure can only be larger.
Sector rotation
Sectors are the SEC’s own SIC assignment, reached through each ticker’s CIK — no key, no configuration. Unlike the treemap above, every position counted here was looked up, so Unclassified is only the genuine misses: CUSIPs that matched no US listing, tickers the SEC’s own file does not carry, and index and ETP lines with no operating company behind them. They are counted rather than dropped — a fund opening one still made a decision.
Counted in positions, not dollars — one fund opening a stake is one decision, whatever its size.
Counted across each fund’s largest disclosed positions, not its whole book. A fund that files thousands of lines contributes only its biggest, so the buy/sell balance here is not the fund’s balance.
How active each book was
opened added to held trimmed exited
The bar covers every decision in the quarter, the positions each fund closed included. The figure beside it is the book those decisions left — the same count the roster and the concentration chart show, which is why it is smaller than the segments add up to.
Concentrated or diversified
Bubble size is disclosed value. Funds above the line with few positions are making decisions; those below with thousands are largely holding inventory.
